Sono-Bath®

Class I Medical Device for Immersion Ultrasound-Guided Hand Surgery, designed for the treatment of Dupuytren’s Contracture.

Sono-Bath®

Immersion Ultrasound-Guided Hand Surgery for Dupuytren’s Contracture.

Product details

Enables better imaging of superficial tissues while optimizing instrument guidance.

Ideal for treating Dupuytren’s contracture with finger flexion deformities and/or thick, irregular palmar skin.

Provides optimal comfort and usability for both patient and surgeon during the procedure.

The ultrasound probe can be positioned at a distance from the skin, eliminating the need for gel or additional accessories.

Prevents air injection during complex procedures, ensuring precise and safer outcomes.

Precautions

  • Verify that the openings of the surgical drapes are perfectly watertight before starting the operation. If not, reinstall the patient with tighter openings or change the technique, abandoning ultrasound-guided surgery under immersion.
  • During the procedure: Occasionally, the liquid may become cloudy if slight bleeding occurs during the percutaneous operation. If this presents a problem, use a sterile aspiration to remove the cloudy liquid and replace it with fresh transparent liquid.
  • End of procedure: Raise the hand, apply the dressing to the hand, and aspirate the liquid before removing the surgical drapes. Ensure that the arm above the surgical drapes is not wet, indicating that throughout the procedure, the drapes’ opening was properly sealed.

Surgical technique

  • The SONO-BATH should be used with two layers of sterile surgical drapes.
  • Enables ultrasound-guided hand surgery without the need for sonographic gel.
  • Avoids probe pressure on the skin during percutaneous surgery, reducing tissue deformation.
  • Allows ultrasound study with good contrast of superficial tissues near the skin.

Contra-indications

Do not use SPIRECUT’S Sono-Bath® :

  • in the presence of an open wound, abrasion, burn, or any other dermatological condition contraindicating hand immersion.
  • if there is any vascular or other condition contraindicating prolonged immersion of the hand in cold liquid.
  • if there is a history of a previous infection, as the infection could have caused fibrosis, or as the operation can re-activate the infection, causing delayed healing and/ or severe complications,
